Hembree, W.M. – Born Dec. 4, 1846, Union County. Enlisted July 1864, Co. A., Ballinger’s Bat., Capt. Daniel Smith. Transferred to Gist’s Guards. Farmer. “I went out with the S.C. Reserves, 1864. In January 1864, I was transferred to the Gist Guards, Capt. Chichester, Heavy Artillery.”
