Respecting your [?] Private Brock has been in hospital nearly all the time since 21st July 63, and when in camp hasn't been able for duty on account of Nurosis of the leg.

Abram Brock was placed on the list of retired soldiers sometime in August or September 1864.  The following information about Brock was included in the retirement details:

The records from the Wayside (1st Louisiana) Hospital in Charleston show Pvt Abram Brock being admitted on July 21, 1863 for "intermittent fever," and sent to Summerville on July 30.
